Application Fee

The application fee information can be found here. The fee must be paid before the application will be considered complete, and the fee must be paid for each application submitted.

 
Transcripts

UC Davis requires academic records from each college-level institution you have attended. You will be instructed to upload scanned copies of your transcripts after you have submitted your online application. The Graduate Studies website contains details explaining how to submit transcripts.

 
Letters of Recommendation

Letters of Recommendation must be submitted electronically through the online application. Visit the UC Davis Graduate Studies website to learn more about submission of letters of recommendation and other steps in the application process.

 
Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

GRE scores are not required for applications.

 
Test of English as a Foreign Langauge (TOEFL) / International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

Applicants must submit the results of TOEL or IELTS if English is not your native language, unless you have received or will be receiving a degree from an university at which the primary language of instruction (through the entire school) is English. The minimum TOEFL score for admission is 100 out of 120 counting all four sections of iBT TOEFL. TOEFL score expire after two years. The minimum IELTS score for admission is 7.0 on a 9-point scale. 

 
WRITING SAMPLES

Applicants must upload required curriculum vitae, resume and/or writing sample via the online application website.

 
DEADLINES

The application deadline for those students seeking financial support is December 1.  The Department of Communication will consider applications until February 1 for any remaining open positions . However, these applicants are not eligible for consideration for financial support for the first academic year.
