Bio
Claire Wonjeong Jo is a first-year PhD student in the Department of Communication at the University of California, Davis. (PI: Dr. Magdalena Wojcieszak)
Her research interests lie in political communication, specifically in online incivility, the democratic effects of counter-attitudinal political news, and the influence of algorithmically curated content environments on users' perceptions and information consumption.
Methodologically, she mainly uses computational approaches, such as network analysis, NLP, deep-learning classifiers, and LLMs, to analyze digital trace data.
